Dr. Natalie Murphy is an Associate Teaching Professor and the Coordinator of the Family Nurse Practitioner track in the MSN and DNP programs. Dr. Murphy previously served as coordinator of Florida Atlantic University’s Harbor Branch campus in Fort Pierce and prior to that was the clinical director of the FNP program at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. She has extensive experience as a nurse educator and as a family nurse practitioner with a focus in cardiology. Her MSN and PhD are from Florida Atlantic University and her BSN is from Thomas Jefferson University.

Research Interests 

  • Dr. Murphy’s current research and clinical interests are focused on the health care needs of women. In particular, she is focused on women’s cardiovascular health and meeting their needs with a holistic approach. Additionally, Dr. Murphy is interested in how social determinants directly impact health needs of women and connects this to her classroom by coordinating study abroad programs for nursing students to learn of these challenges directly.
