The 2025-2030 College of Nursing strategic plan gives voice to our ambitions, but it is the sustained commitment of the College that transforms those ambitions into meaningful outcomes for our students, our profession, and the communities we serve. We are committed to sharing our expertise and broadening our impact across local, state, national, and global communities, guided by shared values that define our path forward.
This strategic plan reflects the longstanding leadership of the UMSL College of Nursing, grounded in decades of impact across education, research, practice, advocacy, and community engagement. The mission, vision, values, and goals that follow are deeply aligned with our land-grant mission advancing access, improving health, and serving communities across our state and beyond.
As a College, our responsibility is not only to educate the next generation of nursing and healthcare leaders, but also to support, inspire, and empower them to transform healthcare for the benefit of all people and communities. This work is grounded in building clinical confidence and competence, expanding, learning through simulation, and using experiential opportunities to shape practice and solve complex health challenges across the lifespan. This work also aims to address social determinants of health, advance health equity, and improve outcomes for individuals, populations, and communities.
This strategic plan is designed to evolve, allowing us to adapt our initiatives as we make progress. It reflects, at its foundation, the ambitions and aspirations of the College.
