This experience was challenging, but I am so grateful for the growth that it gave way to. I feel as though I learned more in these 10 weeks than I thought was possible. My confidence in patient care and nursing responsibilities/communication increased exponentially, and with that, my ability to critically think in the moment and provide care under more stressful situations improved as well. (My preceptor) was incredible! She challenged me, taught me, was patient with me and helped build my confidence in nursing care. While she was on vacation, I was placed with (an alternate preceptor). I am grateful to have been placed with both of them. I was able to learn two similar, but different ways of prioritizing and organizing patient care. I feel more prepared entering my future nursing career after my experience with both of them.

I loved getting to work full-time and see what that feels like and take on the role of the nurse more than we had in the past. Being on one unit all summer helped me to get to know all the staff, the flow of the unit, etc. and I felt like a real nurse by the end.
