All applicants must submit the following materials:

  • Admission to the University by completing the UMSL Undergraduate Application
  • Graduate of either an accredited diploma or associate degree program in nursing
  • Submit transcripts from all previous institutions
  • Evidence of current RN licensure or eligibility for RN licensure if in the final year of an associate degree program for dual admission applicants
  • Cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (4.0 scale) on a minimum of 30 transferable credit hours (excluding nursing course work)
  • RN-BSN program supplemental application, which will require the following:
    • Personal statement indicating reasons for continuing nursing education and professional goals (no more than 2 pages)
    • Required essay (directions found in the supplemental application)
    • Resume outlining previous education, work/volunteer experience, extra-curricular activities, leadership roles, honors and awards

There is no application deadline for the RN to BSN Program. Spaces are assigned to qualified applicants on a first-to-enroll basis. However, it is suggested that applicants submit all required materials at least 4-6 weeks prior to the start of the term for which they plan to enroll.
