Join us for a new opportunity to cultivate community in the 22-23 academic school year as we read young adult literature.
"If we address stories as archaeological sites, and dust through their layers with meticulous care, we find at some level there is always a doorway. A dividing point between here and there, us and them, mundane and magical. It is at the moments when the doors open, when things flow between the worlds, that stories happen." -Alix E. Harrow, The Ten Thousand Doors of January
Theme: Outerlands
This quote by Harrow inspired the theme for this year's reading: Outerlands. We'll explore stories where our characters open the door between worlds, both fantastical and real. The books will span genres (fantasy, realistic, historical fiction) and readership (YA and middle school). Dates and times for meetings to be determined by the group. Come open the door to your reading life–you've got friends waiting on the other side.
