Laptop Policies
Funding: The DSP will provide funding toward a base laptop not to exceed the current price of the program's base desktop machine. Only the laptop models outlined on this website will be approved for purchase through the DSP.
Insurance: The DSP will cover Laptop systems through the University's Personal Property Self-Insurance Program. Any incident not covered by this insurance will be at the expense of your department.
Network Connection: If a laptop is purchased to replace a desktop system, it is expected that the laptop will use the network data connection that the desktop system previously utilized.
Setup: Laptop systems will be setup in ITS with the Standard Software Applications, then brought to your office where data files will be transferred from your current system, if necessary, and the network connectivity tested.
Hardware Service: On-site parts and labor will be provided by ITS.
Software Service: On-site software troubleshooting and labor will be provided by ITS.
