Volunteer of the Month
August 2013
Jadah Tate
"Jadah, who worked in the infant room as part of the 2013 Service Academy, was fantastic. She was motivated and really showed an interest in each of the children and families. She was eager to help in any way that we asked her and she took initiative in the classroom when there was down time."

Ron Goldfeder
“Ron has been a huge asset to the Barriger Collection since he began volunteering here in January. His in depth knowledge of railroad history, experience as a researcher and author of railroad topics and years of experience as a volunteer at the Museum of Transportation and as a former employee of the Science Center make him an invaluable part of our team. Ron has consistently shown that he can handle large projects with ease and we are truly honored to have him working with us here at the library.”

John Roberts
" John was in contact with UMSL well before the Vet Center opened, chomping at the bit to help veterans even thought we didn't have an outlet for him. When we finally opened our doors he began volunteering his time every Monday afternoon from 1-4pm. He helps veterans access information on jobs, specifally those organizations who are looking to hire veterans. His work includes every facet of the employment search from helping write resumes to even making phone calls on behalf of individual student veterans."

Nancy Casey
“After retiring from MIMH, Nancy recently came back as a volunteer. Because she is familiar with the Institute and our employees, not a lot of supervision is needed. She has updated our office floor plans, has helped with a telephone audit, and reorganized our grants and contracts storage room. She is detail oriented, takes initiative and, most importantly, is a happy worker. Nancy’s volunteer service for MIMH is truly making a difference. We are so pleased that she has come back to work with us and appreciate the many things she does for MIMH."
Vicki Eichhorn - Office Supervisor, Missouri Institure of Mental Health

Colby Brown
"Colby volunteers at the Sedexo Food Court area of the Millennium Student Center. He keeps the area of the condiments sparkling clean and the plastic cutlery, napkins, salt, pepper, cream, and sugar supplied. He also has to make sure the floor where the employees are working is free from spills of any kind. Colby is tasked to watch out for his fellow workers and take care that they don't have any mishaps."
