Your Total Rewards Generalist is responsible for administering university benefit programs for all eligible employees at UMSL and can help you with insurance benefits, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, retirement benefits, and other fringe benefits, such as tuition reduction waivers.

The University offers all benefit-eligible employees access to various medical plan options. Medical Insurance is effective on the first day of employment or the first day of benefit eligibility. Paid Time Off
Benefit eligible staff are eligible to accrue paid time off. For more information, refer to Human Resources policies HR-402, HR-403, and HR-404.
The University designates several days per year as official University holidays. For more information, refer to human Resources policy HR-401.
University employees can check out books from any of the libraries on campus free of charge. Our libraries use Merlin/Mobius to request books that are not available in our library.
University employees receive discounted tickets for University athletic events and performances on campus.

The University offers core retirement programs to benefit-eligible employees based on their date of hire or rehire. In addition, all faculty and staff, regardless of benefit eligibility, have access to a variety of Voluntary Retirement Plans. Employees at the University have access to a wide array of training opportunities including more than 3,000 online courses and various classroom training sessions on a variety of topics for both managers and individual contributors. These courses can be accessed through Percipio.
After completion of their probationary period, all benefits-eligible staff are eligible to receive up to eight hours of paid time to volunteer. Eligible staff may take up to eight hours during their normal hours of operation to volunteer at a local not-for-profit.
