Research
The Logistics & Operations Management Area faculty engage in a wide range theoretical and applied research projects. The web pages of individual faculty members highlight research interests and activities. LOM faculty play key roles in the research centers listed below:
Center
for Business and Industrial Studies
The Center for Business and Industrial Studies (CBIS) encourages and facilitates
sponsored research on multi-disciplinary problems. Projects have ranged
from the conduct of survey research to the development and implementation
of computer based systems for corporate planning and operational control.
Through these projects, sponsoring organizations obtain creative insights
on managerial problems and new uses of information technology, while students
gain valuable experience in working with faculty in actual business settings.
Center
for Transportation Studies
The Center for Transportation Studies (CTS) provides research opportunities
for faculty and graduate students on projects involving logistics, transportation
and supply chain management with public and private agencies. Recent research
projects have included network analyses and inventory rationalization
studies, transportation pricing and simulation of congested transportation
systems.
