A first-time college student will automatically be considered for Admissions scholarships when the student is admitted to the University. Students are given priority consideration when they are admitted on or before March 1 preceding the start of the academic year. Students must enroll at UMSL in the fall semester immediately following their high school graduation.

There are three factors used to determine which Admission scholarship a student is eligible for:

  • ACT Composite score (or the SAT(I) Total equivalent)
  • One of the following:
    1. Class Rank, if reported by your high school
    2. Core GPA, which is not always the same as High School GPA. Information about the Core GPA can be found on the Frequently Asked Admissions Questions webpage.

The ACT Composite score (or SAT(I) Total score) will always be included when determining a student's eligibility. We will then consider the Class Rank (if reported) and the Core GPA. In the event a student qualifies for two different scholarships because the Class Rank and the Core GPA result in two different scholarships, we will award the student the higher of the two. Below is a listing of each Admission scholarship for incoming Freshman as well as the criteria that will be used to determine if a student is eligible.
