Renewal Criteria for Merit Scholarships

All UMSL Merit Scholarships (Curators, Chancellors, Gold, Red, & UMSL) have the same renewal criteria. The renewal criteria must be met in order to continue receiving your scholarship for future semesters. Failure to complete any of these criteria may result in you losing your scholarship for the remainder of your Undergraduate career.

*Below renewal criteria is applied to every scholarship unless otherwise noted.

Renewal Criteria Listed Below:

  1. Students must maintain and complete 12 credit hours per semester, Full-Time enrollment.
  2. Students must maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA.
    1. GPA requirement is also applied to students awarded Merit Scholarships prior to Fall 2022 (Curators, Chancellors, University, Academic).

Incoming Freshman students are eligible to receive Merit Scholarships for a total of 8 semesters if they meet the above renewal criteria.

Incoming Transfer Students, students transferring 24 credit hours or more, are eligible to receive merit scholarships for a total of 4 semesters if they meet the above renewal criteria.
