Ana Quiring is the Senior Instructional Designer in the CTL, where she supports faculty in creating engaging, student-centered courses. Ana has led a variety of faculty development and instructional design programs during her tenure at UMSL, including Reflective Teaching Communities, the Certificate in University Teaching program, and a Tritons as Partners program focused on course design with AI. Her expertise includes teaching with AI, active learning and student engagement, and HyFlex teaching.
Ana earned her PhD in English literature from Washington University in St. Louis in 2022, and previously worked in the CTL as Learning Innovation Specialist. She has taught courses in English, writing, and gender studies at four institutions. Outside of work, Ana enjoys knitting, reading, and spending time with her wife and pets.
