Keeta M. Holmes is the Associate Vice Provost & Executive Director of the CTL at UMSL, where she provides strategic leadership for teaching, learning, and faculty development efforts across campus. She partners with the CTL teams and academic leaders to support high‑quality course design, evidence‑based pedagogy, student voice in teaching and learning, embedded student support programs, and initiatives that strengthen instructional capacity and student success. She has taught courses in Russian language, literature, and culture; information literacy for teachers; educational technology courses for graduate students in the College of Education.
Keeta holds a doctorate in curriculum and instruction and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Russian—once fluent, she now specializes mostly in spotting whether Russian in movies is authentic or not. A quirky footnote from her past: she served as Youth Governor of Kentucky in high school, her first and only foray into politics.
Outside of work, Keeta and her husband Steve love doting on their three rescue black lab mixes—Ruby, Emmitt, and Hazel—renovating their old house, and spending time with her mom and sister.
