Current High School Students

  • Submit an Application for Admission and pay the application fee.

    • Academic Transcripts
      • Jamaican Secondary Schools
        • Submit a CXC Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) showing passes in five or more exams in separate subjects, or
        • Submit a Secondary School Transcript for grades 9, 10, and 11.
      • IGCSE, A-Level, and/or AS-Level Exams
        • IGCSE results issued by the Exam Board showing passes in five or more IGCSE examinations in separate subjects

        • IGCSE results issued by the Exam Board showing passes in five or more IGCSE examinations in separate subjects
        • All AS-Level or A-Level Exam results issued by the Exam Board 
      • International Baccalaureate (IB) Exams
        • International Baccalaureate Diploma exam results issued by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO)

Students who have completed Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE), Advanced Level Exams (AS-Level and A-Level) or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program may be eligible to receive credit hours toward their degree.

General Information

To apply for a graduate program at UMSL, you must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university before you enroll.

How to Apply

  1. Submit an Application for Admission and pay the application fee
  2. Upload unofficial transcripts from all universities attended
    • Applications are accepted as early as one year before you finish your bachelor’s degree.
  3. Upload supplemental documents
    • Most programs require additional materials such as a statement of purpose, résumé, or letters of recommendation (LORs)
    • Check specific requirements for your program: View Degree Admission Requirements
      • If LORs are required, notify your recommenders in advance. You will request them through the application portal

Plan Ahead

Some graduate programs have early deadlines. Make sure to check your program’s deadline and apply well in advance. This gives you time to complete all steps, gather required documents, and manage any unexpected needs.
