Succeed Program Preview

The most effective way to meet the team that manages our college programs for the neurodiverse is to attend our Succeed Program Preview. We host about seven (7) previews each semester. There are weeknight (typically on a Wednesday from 6 - 8 PM) and weekend (typically on a Saturday from 10 AM - 12 PM) schedule options.  Components of a program preview are a slideshow presentation (e.g., which program to apply for, eligibility requirements), a Q&A session, a chance to chat with a current student(s) in the Succeed Program, and a walking visit to our campus student residential hall, Oak Hall. Who may attend a program preview? Significant family decision makers and their student(s) with a disability are encouraged to attend these events.

Day in the Life Visit (includes shadowing class):

This is a 3-hour immersive experience that is only available during the semester. A visiting student may sit-in in an ongoing Succeed Program class, spend lunchtime at The Nosh getting to know our current Succeed Program students, and get a glimpse of the Triton Store and the Recreation and Wellness Center. If required by the student's school, we can provide excuse slips. Kindly request them at least 24 hours in advance of your student's Day in the Life Visit. Please note that the Day in the Life Visit is only for students and/or disability professionals wanting to observe one of our college classes for the neurodiverse.  Family members or caregivers are not allowed to wait for their students in the UMSL OIPE office. Our staff will provide you with suggestions on where to wait (e.g., The Nosh at the Millennium Student Center).
