Graduate Studies in Biology

The graduate programs in the Department of Biology at the University of Missouri–St. Louis provide rigorous research training across the biological sciences—from molecular mechanisms inside cells to global patterns of biodiversity. Ph.D. Programs

The Biology Department offers Ph.D. training in three research tracks:

Ph.D. students work closely with faculty advisors to develop original research projects and gain advanced training through coursework, seminars, and collaborative research.

 

Master’s Degrees

We offer multiple pathways to earn a Master of Science in Biology. Different programs may be completed with or without a thesis option.

These programs allow students to tailor their training toward research, professional careers, or further doctoral study.
