Freshmen Merit Scholarships
First-time, full-time college students will automatically be considered for the following scholarships when they are admitted to the University on or before March 1, preceding the start of the academic year. Students must enroll at UMSL in the fall semester immediately following their high school graduation.

$7,000 per year |
| Criteria: |
Incoming freshmen Missouri residents who rank in the top 5% of high school class and score a 28 or higher on the ACT (or SAT equivalent). Full-time enrollment at UMSL required. |
| Renewal: |
Recipients must complete a minimum of 24 credit hours annually at UMSL between the fall and spring semesters and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better. Renewable for up to 3 additional years. |

$5,000 per year |

Incoming freshmen who rank in the top 10% of high school class and score a 26 or higher on the ACT (or SAT equivalent). Full-time enrollment at UMSL required. |

Recipients must complete a minimum of 24 credit hours annually at UMSL between the fall and spring semesters and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Renewable for up to 3 additional years. |

Note: These scholarships are mutually exclusive and cannot be combined or stacked with one another. These scholarships are open to US citizens or permanent residents.
