The Graduate School offers fellowships to help exceptional applicants contend with the cost of a graduate education. Current students completing their dissertations or who have participated in the UMSL Bridge Program while in high school qualify for Additional fellowship opportunities.

Masters Recruitment Fellowships are awards funded by the Graduate School with the intent to attract top-quality masters and specialist students to The University of Missouri – St. Louis. Students who are currently enrolled in an UMSL graduate program are not eligible for this award. There is no submission deadline. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Doctoral Recruitment Fellowships are awards funded by the Graduate School with the intent to attract and recruit exceptional graduate students to enroll in full-time doctoral studies at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. Students who are currently enrolled in an UMSL graduate program are not eligible for this award. Awards are open to applicants in all doctoral programs.  There is no submission deadline. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Dissertation Fellowships support the completion of a dissertation by providing a stipend of $15,000 for the academic year. Deadlines are posted on the Dissertation Fellowships page.

A Bridge Fellowship is offered annually to an outstanding University of Missouri-St. Louis graduate student who participated in the UMSL Bridge Program while in high school in University City, Normandy, Wellston, or St. Louis City. To apply, students should submit their application through the Office of Financial Aid.
