The University of Missouri-St. Louis offers scholarships to students based on both merit and the state in which they live. Each scholarship is available in the following locations as long as the merit criteria is met:

  • Non-Resident Merit Scholarship: Alabama, Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georga, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Washington D.C., West Virginia, Wyoming.
  • Freshman & Transfer Merit Scholarship: Missouri, Illinois.
  • Gateway / Freshman & Transfer Merit Scholarships: Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio.
    • Starting in Fall 2024: Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida
    • Gateway for newly enrolled Graduate students began in Spring 2023.
