Emily Litle is the Assistant Director of Curriculum Design and Assessment in the CTL where she leads department liaisons through the degree program assessment process, helping them develop assessment plans that are robust yet sustainable. She has over ten years of experience in higher education at a variety of different institutions. Before UMSL, she worked as a full-time English and Film faculty member and Department Chair and loved helping students see their strengths and grow as individuals. At UMSL, one of her favorite projects is the Tritons as Partners program, where she elevates student voices to co-create materials at the course level and in degree assessment. She believes that students are well poised to give faculty and departments in-the-moment feedback that can help identify what is working and what might need support.
Outside of work, Emily spends time with her family and focuses on raising two (occasionally feral) sons. She enjoys heavy metal music and playing video games when she can. Born into a fifth-generation farming family, Emily loves animals and being outside. Her favorite book series is The Wheel of Time, and her favorite film is A Clockwork Orange.
