The Department of Biology at the University of Missouri–St. Louis invites applications for a full-time, nine-month position as an Assistant Teaching Professor. The position is a non-tenure track, renewable appointment beginning in August of 2026. The primary teaching responsibility includes lecture and laboratory sections of Introductory Biology: From Molecules to Organisms, a required course for Biology and Biochemistry & Biotechnology majors. Additional courses will include General Biology or General Microbiology for our Pre-Nursing students and general education students. Senior undergraduate/graduate-level elective courses will be added based on applicant expertise and department need. Teaching will involve lecture and laboratory sections, as well as mentoring of graduate teaching assistants. Some evening teaching is to be expected. Optional summer teaching is possible. The successful candidate also will participate in advising of undergraduate Biology majors and serving on departmental committees.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline is required. Previous teaching experience and/or relevant post-doctoral experience are desirable.
