2008 World Ecology Award – Gala Dinner
SAVE THE DATE - Saturday, October 11, 2008

 

The 2008 World Ecology Award will be presented to Dereck and Beverly Joubert from South Africa.  The Jouberts are Explorers-in-Residence at the National Geographic Society and global conservationists who make films.  They are winners of five Emmys, two Chris awards, the Grand Teton award, and a George Foster Peabody award and have dedicated their lives to using documentary films and books to enhance conservation of African wildlife.  Their films focus on the big cats of Africa as they believe that the large predators are the best indicators to the health of many ecosystems.

Please join us for a celebratory dinner on Saturday, October 11 at the Missouri Botanical Garden beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Funds raised at the dinner will be used to support the graduate research scholarship program of the Whitney R. Harris World Ecology Center.
