Matthew Ogburn
B.A. (Biology) Macalester College
Matt Ogburn received his bachelor’s degree in 1994 from Macalester
College in St. Paul, MN. Since then he has worked in a number of positions,
including lab technician in a blood bank, bicycle messenger, and bass guitarist
in a punk rock band. Recent fieldwork as an assistant on ecology projects
at Mt. St. Helens, Washington and the Amazonian lowlands of Ecuador led
him back to the academic world. He is currently enrolled in the M.S. program
in the lab of Dr. Robert Marquis, and is interested in the role of parasitoid
wasps in forest ecosystems. He has long been interested in teaching as well,
and enjoys the chance to work with high school students.
