Z is a Student Engagement Specialist at the CTL, supporting the training and development of graduate student instructors and embedded student educators. They are committed to strengthening student engagement at UMSL and they collaborate with both faculty and students to help create student-centered learning environments from the initial steps of course design to teaching methods and assessment strategies.
Z earned their Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Chicago and have taught a broad range of Humanities courses for the past 8 years, including foreign languages, literature, and theoretical linguistics. In their free time, they enjoy baking and bouldering. They also love exploring St. Louis’s parks and museums and hanging out with their two cats Artemis and Apollo.
