Sarah Butler is the Learning Analytics Specialist in the CTL, where she leads evaluation and assessment efforts for CTL programming. Her work includes developing comprehensive evaluation plans, building sustainable internal assessment cycles, and producing annual reporting to support data-informed decision making. She supports CoursEval administration and faculty support, leads the Mid-Semester Feedback process, and supports curriculum alignment through overseeing the production cycle of UMSL’s academic maps. She also oversees the CTL website and newsletter, ensuring alignment across CTL initiatives to maintain a cohesive and effective online presence for faculty. Although she once imagined becoming a librarian, she found that her passion for documenting, organizing, and interpreting information makes assessment another natural path.
Before joining the CTL, Sarah served as UMSL’s Testing Center Services Coordinator, where she restructured testing operations to meet national accreditor standards, expanded on-campus credentialing options, integrated a comprehensive database system, and established processes that strengthened both service quality and staffing capacity. She is a recipient of the 2023 Chancellor’s Award for Staff Excellence as a Creator and has an M.Ed. in Adult and Higher Education and a B.A. in History, both from UMSL. Beyond her work, she is active in UMSL Radio as a DJ and PSA producer and enjoys hiking, biking, camping, live music, collecting comic books, watching pro wrestling, and spending time with her cats.
