Anyone can become a member of the St. Louis Mercantile Library.

Each membership level receives other special benefits. 

Friends of the Mercantile Library (Individual Membership) $45

General members and their immediate families receive:

• Full privileges to borrow books both from the Mercantile and the UMSL Thomas Jefferson Library.
• Member discounts on all Library programs, including Director’s Colloquia, lectures, book discussion series and special events.
• Invitations to Members-only opening receptions for special exhibitions.
• Member discounts on research and photo-duplication services.
• 10% discount on merchandise at the Mercantile Library Shop.
• Subscriptions to the annual New Books list and the Library's biannual newsletter.
• Free parking on campus while visiting the Library; contact the Library ahead of your visit for assistance.

Family Membership $65

All of the rewards above PLUS:

• Benefits extended to one other adult in your household, as well as children under age 18.

Art Museum Benefactor $75

• Membership in the American Art Collectors’ Club (Art Benefactor).

Library Circle $1000

All of the rewards of a Pillars Membership PLUS:

• Recognition on the List of Distinguished Donors, displayed in the foyer of the Mercantile Library.
• Exclusive receptions with distinguished speakers throughout the year from all Mercantile Library programs.
• One personal Discovery Tour per member household.  [Theme based on Mercantile collections, 2 months' notice required.]
• Two Individual gift memberships for one year for two friends.
