The St. Louis Mercantile Library is located in the same building as the Thomas Jefferson Library at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.  Exhibitions can be viewed during normal Thomas Jefferson Library hours; all exhibitions are free and open to the public.

Viewing rare books and archival materials can only be done in the reading room, which is open on specific weekday mornings and afternoons.  In observance of security procedures, certain services may not be available shortly before the daily closing time.

 Standard hours for the Reading Room are:

Monday: 12:30pm - 4:00pm

Tuesday: 9:00am - 12:00pm
                  1:00pm  -  4:00pm

Wednesday: 9:00am - 12:00pm
                       1:00pm  -  4:00pm

Thursday: 9:00am - 12:00pm
                   1:00pm  -  4:00pm

Friday-Sunday: CLOSED

Please note that these hours are subject to change with the Academic Year calendar or campus closures. We strongly encourage researchers to check the Academic Year calendar and call ahead before visiting.
