Rosters and Grading

FERPA Training

Faculty access to class rosters in MyView will only be granted upon your successful completion of the FERPA training. The directions are below. Teachers will need the UMSL ID and UMSL email provided to them by the Advanced Credit Program office. Teachers who do not know or remember their login information should contact acp@umsl.edu.

1. Set a password

Navigate to the Password Management Tools on UMSL's website. Select “Change Password/Reset Password,” and enter your UMSL email address.

Follow the prompts to verify your identity and reset your password. Verification codes will be sent to the phone number you provided on the PAF. You may also be prompted to download and authenticate using Microsoft’s Authenticator App

If the phone number needed for verification is incorrect, or if you are otherwise instructed to contact an administrator, call Tech Support Services at 314-516-6034.

Passwords will expire and need to be renewed every six months.

2. Complete the FERPA training

FERPA training can be found in Canvas. Use your UMSL email and new password when logging in.

In Canvas, locate the FERPA training card and pass the training with at least an 80% score.

3. Wait 24 hours before logging into MyView

Class Rosters

Following registration each semester, adjunct teachers should review their dual credit rosters in MyView and verify the accuracy of these rosters. Any discrepancies (e.g. students missing from the roster, students enrolled in the wrong class, etc.) should be reported to the Advanced Credit Program office immediately to ensure that all students are properly identified.

Teachers can access MyView using the UMSL ID and UMSL email provided to them by the Advanced Credit Program office. Teachers who do not know or remember their login information should contact acp@umsl.edu.

To view class rosters, navigate to MyView and log in using your UMSL email and password. Select the "Main Menu" tile. Follow the path: Self Service > Faculty Center > My Schedule. In "My Schedule," teachers can view their scheduled ACP courses and class rosters.

Grading

Upon completion of an Advanced Credit Program course, adjunct instructors will issue a final letter grade to students enrolled in MyView. Grades will need to be submitted by the deadlines announced each semester. Teachers should aim to have grades submitted to MyView no later than two weeks after the conclusion of the course.

Teachers will not be able to submit grades until the grade roster is created in MyView. Specific instructions for how to enter grades will be sent to adjuncts once grade rosters are generated near the end of each semester.

Teachers have full discretion in how they assign letter grades, but their grading scale should be clearly outlined in their course syllabus. See Grading System for more information about UMSL's GPA scale.

If undesirable grades are posted, they cannot be removed from a student's official university transcript. Students should be advised accordingly. The grade a student earned in an Advanced Credit course appears as part of the student's permanent university record and cannot be dropped.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you are having difficulty accessing your faculty MyView account or class rosters, please reach out to acp@umsl.edu, and an ACP staff member will be able to assist you.

The answer depends. ACP Adjuncts only need to submit one final letter grade per UMSL course. However, some year-long high school courses are equivalent to two UMSL courses, while other year-long high school courses are only equivalent to one UMSL course.

For example, a full year of high school US history is often equivalent to UMSL HIST 1001 and HIST 1002. In this case, the adjunct would likely need to submit grades for HIST 1001 in December and grades for HIST 1002 in May.

By contrast, a full year of high school Spanish 3 is usually considered equivalent to UMSL SPANISH 1001. In this case, the adjunct would only need to submit final letter grades in May.

Because UMSL’s scheduling system is built around semester-long courses, and the ACP uses the same scheduling system as the rest of UMSL, ACP courses cannot appear under more than one term in MyView. Otherwise, it would appear as though students repeated the same UMSL course twice.

Yearlong ACP courses will only appear under the semester in which students register. For example, a yearlong SPANISH 1001 course that registers in Fall will only appear in MyView under the Fall term. These courses are given a special course attribute that stretches the grade deadline to May.
