The Advanced Credit Program offers two different kinds of scholarships for high school teachers taking graduate courses at UMSL.
Professional Development Scholarships
Professional Development Scholarships are designed specifically to help non-ACP instructors become qualified to teach ACP courses. Scholarship forms are allotted to high schools based on their enrollment totals from the previous academic year. Each form can cover the cost of one 3-credit-hour graduate course at UMSL.
To obtain a form, interested instructors should reach out to their high school’s dual credit coordinator. Schools can distribute their allotted scholarships to teachers at their discretion.
To redeem a scholarship, teachers must already be admitted to UMSL and enrolled in their desired course. Visit the Graduate School for more information about available programs and/or how to apply as a non-degree seeking student. Once enrolled, complete the form as directed and return it to the ACP office.
Additional Information:
- All scholarships must be used in the academic year they are awarded and cannot be banked for future use.
- A teacher may be awarded a maximum of 18 credit hours through Professional Development Scholarships throughout their career.
- Professional Development Scholarships only cover in-state tuition and do not cover any additional fees.
Partner Scholarships
Current ACP teachers are awarded a maximum of two Partner Scholarships annually based on their current student enrollment. Like Professional Development Scholarships, one Partner Scholarship can cover the cost of one 3-credit-hour graduate course at UMSL. ACP teachers may use these scholarships to further their own education or take courses of personal interest to them.
Partner Scholarships can also be transferred to a non-ACP teachers for the purpose of becoming qualified to teach an ACP course. An additional application will be required. Non-ACP teachers may consider asking a current ACP teacher if they have a Partner Scholarship available for the current year.
To confirm their eligibility and obtain a form, ACP teachers should reach out to the ACP office at acp@umsl.edu.
