Department Overview 

Welcome to the Department of Communication and Media at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The department is made up of a collegial group of faculty teaching and investigating the construction, delivery, and perception of messages. The curriculum covers a broad range of content areas, including health communication, digital media, media production, advertising, public relations, and more traditional areas of study such as interpersonal, organizational, intercultural, and mass communication. Many of our faculty members engage in cutting edge research, which is combined with theory and practical skills in our classrooms to allow students to develop both the understanding and skill set necessary for effective communication.
