The UMSL Department of Music offers a variety of undergraduate degrees and extraordinary performance opportunities that prepare students for careers as teachers, performers, and scholars.
Students choose from a wide range of areas of study and benefit from individualized instruction by dedicated faculty members who are renowned artists/teachers, scholars, and educators. Both majors and non-majors have the opportunity to participate in numerous ensembles, from small chamber groups to a full-size orchestra, choir, and wind ensemble.
The UMSL Department of Music is committed to community engagement, providing high quality and accessible musical experiences to the greater St. Louis community. We present regular concerts and recitals, which are open to all; we work with area K-12 schools; we offer workshops and camps for student musicians and educators.
