ABSTRACT: The regulations paper for the Portsmouth and Roanoke Railroad written by Arthur Emmerson, the president of the company.

SCOPE: This paper of regulations is from January 1836 and describes the regulations to be observed by those sending or receiving produce or other articles with the Portsmouth and Roanoke Railroad. It also includes different rates of transportation for things like goods, lumber, and passengers.

ACCESS: This collection can be viewed on-site in the Rare Book and Manuscripts Reading Room. Some of the material may be photocopied, digitally scanned or photographed, subject to condition and other access restrictions.
