( Fall 2026) . Seminars are normally held on Mondays at 4:00 - 4:50 pm in Room 103 Benton Hall. Seminars are attended by faculty, postdocs, graduate students from all divisions and visitors, as well as undergraduate chemistry majors typically in their final semester.

Robert W. Murray Lecture

On Monday October 12, 2026, the 27 th Annual Robert W. Murray Lecture Lecture will be presented by Professor Melanie Sanford, Moses Gomberg Distinguished University Professor of Chemistry, Arthur F Thurnau Professor and Professor of Chemistry at the University of Michigan. Details will follow.

The Distinguished Alumni Lecture

The 37th ANNUAL DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI LECTURE  was  presented by Richard (Rick) Hoyt BA 1976 who spent 40 years with Mallinckrodt, initially as a reseach and analytical chemist and retired as a senior executive.  0n Monday May 4, 2026 at in B-103 in the Science Complex at 4:00 pm, his topic was: "A Chemist's Life".The 2024-25 Lecture was presented by Gregg J. Lumetta, BS 1982, PhD 1986, on Monday May 5. Details will follow. Dr Lumetta is Lab Fellow, and Chemist in the Nuclear Chemistry & Engineering Group at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, in Richland, WA.
