Undergraduate Certificates

An 15 credit-hour program designed to provide a strong background in both technical and management aspects of cybersecurity. Suitable for students do not currently have an undergraduate degree but who want significant breadth and depth in cybersecurity without committing to a full bachelors degree. Students pursuing other undergraduate majors may also find it useful to add this certificate to their portfolio.

2+3 BS & MS in Information Systems and Technology Dual Degree Program

Finish both your undergraduate and graduate degrees together in a shorter time.

The 2+3 Combined BS/MS program in Information Systems and Technology provides an opportunity for students of recognized academic ability and educational maturity to complete the requirements for both degrees in 5 years of full-time study.

The combined program allows students to complete both the undergraduate and graduate degrees in Information Systems and Technology with a total of 135 credit hours instead of the typical 150 credit hours if the degrees were pursued separately. When all the requirements of the BS/MS program have been completed, students will be awarded both the BS and MS degrees.

Depending on student goals, any two graduate certificates (12 credit hours each) may be combined together with two additional courses to obtain the MS IST degree.

A strong 30 credit-hour graduate program in cybersecurity with a focus on management aspects of cybersecurity. Entry requirements include basic technical foundations and/or work experience related to Information Technology (IT). This emphasis is designed for professionals from a diverse set of undergraduate backgrounds who wish to transition into management of information security or general IT management related roles.

Stackable Graduate Certificates

The Information Systems and Technology department offers stackable graduate certificates.

These are focused and intense curricula of study geared toward particular knowledge, skills, and abilities within high-demand fields of study to foster reskilling/upskilling of the regional and national talent pool. Further, these certificates create flexible pathways for students to complete the full Master of Science in Information Systems and Technology (MSIST) by transferring all courses taken within Graduate Certificates into the MSIST. Certificates are a good way to build skills while at the same time suitable for prospective students who may not be ready to commit to a full degree but wish to leave the option open and work toward it.

The Graduate Certificate in Information Systems and Technology provides students with core technical skills in programming, database management, systems analysis, and systems design. These skills are a foundation for specialized domains of study in business intelligence, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems development.

MBA with IST Emphasis

The Master of Business Administration (Flex MBA) program offered by the College of Business Administration provides students an opportunity to add the Information Systems and Technology emphasis as part of their MBA program requirements. The Information Systems and Technology Emphasis in the Flex MBA program requires a total of 12 credit hours.

Students can customize their emphasis or choose courses that can also get them a Graduate Certificate from IST department.
