FERPA
In compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), UMSL is prohibited from sharing certain information from students' post-secondary record with any third party, including parents and guardians, without the student's consent. This policy applies to student ID numbers, tuition bills, and grades. The Advanced Credit Program may not share this information with parents or guardians without the student's consent. During the application process, students must indicate whether or not they consent to the University discussing information with their parent or guardian. If the student consents, information will only be released upon request by the parent or guardian and may only be discussed verbally. If the student does not consent, they limit the sharable information to only that which is strictly necessary for enrollment. Parents and guardians will still be notified of their student's application and prompted to approve or deny their enrollment in dual credit.
