The Community College Presidents’ Scholarship is awarded jointly by the presidents of the participating St. Louis-area community college campuses* and the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
What does the scholarship cover?
Tuition for up to 15 credit hours after all grants and scholarships are applied in each of the fall and spring semesters and up to 5 credit hours in one summer semester. Scholarship can be renewed for up to two years not to exceed 60 credit hours. The scholarship does not cover any online fees, bookstore charges or nonresident fees.
To apply for this opportunity, submit the following:
- Apply for Admission - You will not be able to apply for scholarships until you have been admitted.
- The Competitive Scholarship application opens October 1 for the academic year. For Fall admission, submit the scholarship application through Academic Works by no later than April 1. For Spring admission, the application must be submitted through Academic Works by November 1.
- Provide a reference letter and supporting essay, during the submission of general scholarship application using the existing essay question and referral link to allow your reference to submit the referral letter on your behalf via the link. Reference should not be from a family member. References should be from a third party, such as a professional, education or religious acquaintance.

Criteria
Students wishing to apply for this scholarship must meet the following criteria:
- Students must Complete the FAFSA for the current year as well as the upcoming school year.
- Students must have earned an Associates in Arts (AA), Associates in Arts in Teaching (AAT), Associates of Science (AS),** or have applied for graduation for one of these degrees. Degree must be awarded before student begins at UMSL.
- Student must be currently attending one of the participating community colleges.*
- Student must enroll at UMSL the semester following graduating from an eligible college.
- Student must be first-time UMSL transfer student.
- Student must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Student must have a minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Student must enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours, Full Time enrollment
- Student will be selected by their respective Community College
*Participating schools: East Central College; Jefferson College; Lewis & Clark CC; Mineral Area College; St. Charles CC; St. Louis CC Flo Valley, Forest Park, Meramec and Wildwood; and SWIC.
