Community College President's Scholarship

The Community College President's Scholarship is awarded jointly by the presidents of the participating St. Louis-area community college campuses and the University of Missouri-St. Louis. This scholarship covers tuition and mandatory fees for up 15 credit hours in each the fall and spring semesters for up to two years (not to exceed 60 credit hours). It also covers tuition and fees for up to 5 credit hours in one summer semester.

Community College Presidents' Scholarship App Process details

Criteria

Students wishing to apply for this scholarship must meet the following criteria:

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Have full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours)
  • Have earned an eligible UMSL articulated degree from a 2 year college. 
  • Recipients must have received the degree before starting at UMSL.
  • Be admitted to UMSL by the following deadlines:

               Fall transfers: March 1st
               Spring transfers: October 1st

  2. Application Collection & Nominee Selection
    1. Community College students must apply by term deadline
      Deadline: March 1 for fall term and October 1 for spring term
    2. Applications must be submitted to Community College Financial Aid office by term deadline
    3. Community College President reviews and makes nominee recommendation (please do not
      notify nominee of recommendation)
      Deadline: Nominee recommendation must be sent to Zak Tierney at askzak@umsl.edu by March 20 for fall term and October 15 for spring term
  3. Scholarship Notification
    1. UMSL will review and verify nominee recommendation for eligibility requirements
    2. UMSL will contact scholarship recipient and award scholarship (Community College will be
      notified in advance to partake in student being notified of the award)
      Deadline: Recipient notification by November 1st for fall term and April 1st for spring term

Renewal Criteria

Recipients must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester at UMSL in the fall and spring semesters. In addition, they must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.
