Components of the department chair compensation/support:
1. All department chairs will receive additional compensation of 2/9th of their academic salary. They will be expected to be available during the summer as determined by the dean.2. All department chairs will be provided chair training (professional development)
3. The following additional support will be provided in relation to the size and complexity of the department.
a. Department chairs will receive course releases
b. Assistant Chair and/or Graduate Director
4. Upon completion of their service, a chair who has served at least three years will be offered a transitional leave of one semester (at 100% academic salary) when they return faculty ranks. In cases where a chair has served longer than three years the dean may request provost approval for a transitional leave extending two academic semesters.Office of Academic Affairs - Spring 2022
