The Office of New Student Programs (NSP) and Campus Visits provides ongoing programs and services that support new students and families in transition to University of Missouri–St. Louis.
We provide a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, connect students to university resources and people, acquaint new students with institutional expectations and values, promote learning and discovery both inside and outside of the classroom, and foster pride in the UMSL community.

Megan Green Simonds, M.Ed. Student Affairs in Higher Education
Director of New Student Programs & Campus Visit Experiences

Megan Green Simonds is the Director of New Student Programs & Campus Visit Experiences and has been at UMSL since February 2013. Before coming to UMSL, she worked as an Assistant Director of Student Life, at Rockhurst University, where her primary responsibilities were in orientation, welcome week, family weekend, advising student organizations, and leadership development.
Megan received her B.A. in Communication, Science and Disorder from Rockhurst University and M.Ed. in Higher Education and Administration from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. Her work with student affairs began as an undergraduate student leader in the Office of Student Activities. She continued her education and working as the Program Assistant at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville, and then advanced as the Coordinator of New Student Programs at Southern Methodist University, where at both institutions excelled in implementing their extended orientation, welcome week, and parent programming. These opportunities have cultivated her passion for diversity education and leadership development, and given her experience in program expansion and implementation.

Erin Sullivan, M.S. Student Affairs in Higher Education

Erin Sullivan is the Assistant Director of New Student Programs & Campus Visit Experiences and has been at UMSL since January 2017. Before coming to UMSL, she worked as an Assistant Director for New Student Programs, at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her primary responsibilities were in student leadership development for Orientation Student Coordinators and Orientation Leaders, growing the extended orientation experience, and various events in New Student Programs.
Erin received both her Bachelor of Sciences in Marketing and Master of Sciences in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Missouri State University. Her excitement for student affairs began as a highly involved student on campus, through her Orientation Leader and Team Leader role in the New Student and Family Programs office. The drive to my work is to have a welcoming, diverse, helpful, and engaging environment for all of our new students and our Orientation Leader team. Briana "Bri" Dalton
Coordinator of Welcome Center & Campus Visits

Briana “Bri” Dalton is the Coordinator of Welcome Events & Campus Tours and began her journey with UMSL August 2022. She is a former member of the National College Advising Corps (NCAC). Prior to her role at UMSL she was a high school College and Career Adviser for the Missouri College Advising Corps.
Formerly known as “Ms. Dalton,”Bri assisted with post-secondary planning and took an innovative approach towards boosting engagement amongst students and parents. By serving the community in this capacity, she learned how to best meet the needs of inner-city families through their journey of exploration. Bri planned and executed many workshops to get families involved, such as: college and career rep visits, senior assemblies, information sessions, large group tours, FAFSA Frenzies, ACT registrations, and many more educational field trips.
Briana received a Bachelor of Science degree in Digital Media Production from the University of Central Missouri. In her undergraduate experience she was a Student Ambassador, Orientation Leader, and a member of several other campus organizations. Encouraging campus participation and being active has always been one of her core values.
Bri enjoys educating, enlightening, welcoming, and comforting others. She also enjoys bringing positive energy to her surroundings. Sometimes it can be challenging to be in a new environment and her desire is to make everyone feel desired by UMSL.
Malik Lendell
Coordinator of Triton Leader Development

Malik Lendell is the Coordinator of Triton Leader Development and has been at UMSL since August 2022. Prior to his role at UMSL, Malik worked as the publicist intern of the local nonprofit A Red Circle.
Malik received his B.S. in Media Studies from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, where he also partook in various roles including as an Orientation Leader for three years with New Student Programs. In this role, he introduced many students to the university and helped them grow familiar with campus resources and programs.
