SCOPE: This collection comprises 133 underground periodicals and ephemera produced during the anti-war movement in the United States, ca. 1965-1975. This collection is representative of the GI Movement, or the campaign by active-duty soldiers and veterans in protest of United States involvement in the Vietnam War and atrocities they committed against the Vietnamese people, as well as the related wars in Laos and Cambodia. Included are newspapers, posters, handbills, and artifacts.
ACCESS: This is collection M-714. This collection is available for on-site use only in the Rare Book and Manuscripts Reading Room. Some of the collection may be photocopied, digitally scanned or photographed, depending on condition. Researchers are advised to call ahead concerning changes in hours due to University intersessions and holidays. The St. Louis Mercantile Library is located on levels one and two of the Thomas Jefferson Library building.
