SCOPE: The Western American Life Collection consists of printed materials relating to life in the 20th century western United States. Materials represented in the collection include reports, magazines, dissertations, brochures, pamphlets, and books, and generally are covering subject matter including water and resource availability and usage, tourism, natural features, science, and cultural institutions. The bulk of the collections materials are located approximately from 1950 - 1980.
ACCESS: This is collection M-387. This collection is available for on-site use only in the Rare Book and Manuscripts Reading Room. Some of the collection may be photocopied, digitally scanned or photographed, depending on condition. Researchers are advised to call ahead concerning changes in hours due to University intersessions and holidays. The St. Louis Mercantile Library is located on levels one and two of the Thomas Jefferson Library building.
