Collection #30: New York Historical Files

12 Boxes. D10 #Al-12. (Provenance Maintained)

These were built up over many years by ACF's Secretarial Department at ACF Headquarters in New York. They were shipped to the Archive during 1977. Provenance has been maintained, although at first glance, the arrangement is a little confusing. Generally speaking, the arrangement is by plant, by division and by subsidiary. The files include records of defense activities also, and a rudimentary biographical file. The Jackson & Sharp box (115) is particularly interesting. Not only does it contain some of the oldest material in the entire collection, (some of it 100 years of age), it is a unique glimpse at a "store front" car building company of the 19th century.

Collection #37: Photographs, Aircraft Fuselage Construction

1 Box, S22 #11

An ad hoc collection, drawn from the scattered materials originally in the Archive room. Fuselage construction took place in the St. Charles plant during the 1950's under a sub-contract, but little is known of the activity. The folder of booklets to be found in this box is of little help in understanding the nature of this work.
