A Message from Dean Joan Phillips

Welcome to the University of Missouri-St. Louis and the College of Business Administration. The college is accredited by the world's premier business school accrediting organization, the AACSB (The Association to Advance College Schools of Business). This distinction is earned by a very small percentage of business schools worldwide, and we are one of two business schools in St. Louis to have both our business school and our accounting programs accredited.  I have served on the faculty of five national universities and I can assure you that UMSL’s College of Business Administration is second to none.  The UMSL experience includes a serious connection to the St Louis businesses large and small.

If you are an undergraduate student considering UMSL, I encourage you to explore the website to check out our undergraduate program offerings in management, marketing, accounting, finance, information systems, supply chain management, cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, and international business. Our International Business program, which has been ranked among the 25 best such programs in the country for the past 17 years by U.S. News and World Report, has created new partnerships with universities in Germany and Finland as well as expanded international internship opportunities for our students. Lastly, the College now offers several degree and non-degree certificates in the fast growing fields of supply chain management, digital marketing, cybersecurity, entrepreneurship and business intelligence.

At UMSL, we are well-known for producing hard working, well-prepared graduates. We have over 27,000 graduates of the College of Business Administration since our inception and they are making a difference in their companies and communities. As the global marketplace evolves, we will continue to ensure that our students are well grounded in the impacts of the latest technologies and in the leadership attributes needed to ensure success.

Of course we want to meet you in person soon, but in the meantime we hope that this orientation will help you start your journey toward a successful business career. When you arrive on campus, one of our advisors will help you begin your UMSL experience. Welcome!

Sincerely,
