UMSL’s Master of Arts in Economics program is specifically designed for those seeking to work as professional economists. Our students acquire knowledge, as well as a versatile set of skills, that are highly valued in the workplace. In fact, our MA program has an excellent track record of placing graduates in private sector and government jobs, as well as in top PhD programs. A recent survey of alumni found that 95 percent of our MA in Economics students found a position within one year of graduation, and over 60 percent went on to earn annual salaries of $100,000 or more.
