Creating Your Form

The first step in creating your form is to decide what your form will need to do. In most cases, you will only need your form to take the information from the form, and send it to a specified email address. Various versions of this type of form can be found on the "examples" pages.

If you decide to use FormServlet to interact with an Oracle database, you must first have a database set up. If you do not already have Oracle space, please contact the Web Office at Web_Office@umsl.edu and tell them what you need. We CAN NOT work with Access databases, although it is possible to convert current Access databases to Oracle.

View the following examples to see if the fuctionality you need is already available. In most cases, you will be able to copy the HTML supplied here, edit a minimum number of variables (email address, title, etc.), and upload the edited files to your site. If you need help in developing your form(s) please contact the Web Office.
