Irish Summer School

Spend a month in Galway, Ireland studying subjects related to Irish history, archaeology, literature, etc. Field trips will add to your experience and understanding of Irish culture. Students receive six hours of transfer credit through this program. Each student will select two of the following courses:

SU 406 Irish Traditional Music & Dance Music 4000 Directed Studies

Program Fee*: $4,050
Meals and Personal Expenses: $1000 - $1500 (depends on personal habits)
Airfare: $1100 (Estimate. Students purchase airfare individually)

**$1,000 scholarships are available to all qualified UMSL students for participation in this program.

Application Process:
Applicants will need to submit the following documents to the Study Abroad Office. Forms are available online or in the Study Abroad Office, 261 MSC. Application and non-refundable deposit of $100 are due by February 22, 2008.

1. UMSL Study Abroad Application Form
2. Non-refundable** $100 deposit (due at time of application - check payable to UMSL, credit cards not accepted )
3 . Transcript (UM-St. Louis students: use study abroad transcript request form)
4 . Scholarship application and scholarship essay (UMSL students only)

Upon your acceptance to the program, additional forms will be mailed to you. You will need to complete and return them to the Study Abroad Office in a timely manner.

**deposit will be refunded if you are not selected to participate in the program.

Mandatory Pre-Departure Orientation:
All UM-St. Louis students who study abroad are required to attend pre-departure orientation. This session will cover registration and financial aid, credit transfer, travel, health and safety topics, culture shock, and much more.

Non UM-St. Louis students residing in the St. Louis area are also welcome to attend. Please notify the Study Abroad Office if you will be attending so that we may send you a parking permit and directions.
