M-238: Young, Robert A. III

 

HISTORY: One of St. Louis´ most influential political voices of his time, Robert A. Young III (b. 1923) served in a number of political positions including: United States Representative (Mo-2nd), 1976-1986; Missouri State Senator, 1962-1976; Missouri House Representative, 1956-1962. This collection was donated by the Congressman in 2001.

SCOPE: The collection is composed primarily of two major sections.

Series 1 contains approximately 70 scrap books spanning the time period of 1952 to 1981, primarily newspaper clippings which chronicle his political career. Series 2 is comprised of a oral history transcripts taken over a series of interviews with the Congressman.

HOLDINGS: Approximately 6 linear feet of holdings.

ACCESS: Some of the material in Special Collection M-238 may be photocopied, digitally scanned or photographed, subject to condition. Please note that the oral history has not yet been transcribed and is therefore not available to the public.
