M-145: Hindenburg Collection

 

HISTORY: The collection was donated in 1993 to the Mercantile Library by a passenger on the Hindenburg air ship in one of its successful mid-career passages over the Atlantic in the 1930s. This collection forms an interesting body of material that recalls the bygone days of the zeppelins, and an unusual sidelight to the growing aviation collections of the Library.

SCOPE: The collection includes lantern slides, printed ephemera from the Hindenburg, tickets, and clippings and letters which related to successful trip which these materials document.

HOLDINGS: 1 box of archival material.

ACCESS: Special Collection M-145 may be photocopied, digitally scanned or photographed depending on condition.
