The RWC offers a wide variety of fee based programs.  The classes that are offered as fee based programs are progressive and provide personal enrichment, training, and skill building.  Each participant can enjoy a smaller class setting and more individual attention from the instructor.  Each instructor is certified within their discipline and has years of experience. 


This program will help you get in shape for your next 5k. This program will guide you through a strategic training regimen and some helpful tips to take with you during the race.

*All registrants will receive free registration to our Goose Chase 5k on May 6th.

Take your yoga practice into the water. This fun and challenging course will test your balance while practicing all of your favorite yoga moves on the Paddleboard. All levels welcome!

Monday, February 4 6:30-7:45pm in Studio 4 - Pranayama Practice in Yoga and in Daily Life

Start off the semester right by managing your stress by watching your breath. We will practice various pranayama (breathing techniques) using your breath to create more calm and inner strength in your yoga practice and your life. We will learn and practice Ujayi Breath, Simplified Deep breathing with verbal tips you can use anytime, anywhere, as well as Lion's breath and Buzzing Bee Breath.

Monday, March 4 6:30-7:45pm in Studio 4 - Spiritual Yoga Flow

This is a yoga class where we will practice yoga in a soulful flow to contemporary Christian rock music ending with a guided contemplative relaxation. Music affects the spirit, mind and soul. Come and move to your Divine's groove.

Monday, April 1, 6:30 - 7:45pm More Meditation Techniques

There are hundreds of ways to meditate and the benefits of a meditation practice are far reaching. In this workshop you will learn and practice Body Centered meditation and Walking meditation. You will learn about props to help with your meditation practice and make your own set of Mala Beads.

Want a workout program designed for you, but don’t have time to meet with a personal trainer every week? The Healthy Weight Management program will allow you to work out around your schedule with a workout program that was designed to meet your goals. 

This course will introduce the fundamentals of healthy living. Whether you’re looking to start your journey or continue to advance your health, our trainers can help

Each participant will is paired with a certified personal trainer and meets with them at the beginning and at the end of the program. Each meeting will consist of a free fitness assessment. During the assessment your trainer will measure body composition, flexibility, muscular strength and endurance, and more. These are all components of fitness that they will use in order to create a workout that’s right for you!

Spring Session: April 1-May 10

Want to lift more weights but feel uncomfortable or unsure of what to do in the weight room? This course is for you.  A Certified Personal Trainer will teach you how to use various pieces of equipment in the fitness center to increase strength and reach your fitness goals.  This course will allow participants to learn effective fitness goal setting while teaching them how to create and begin their own resistance training program. This class will meet on the fitness floor.

Interested in becoming a Personal Trainer? This class is designed to provide hands on experience with training clients and a general overview of anatomy/physiology, nutrition, program design, and more. This program will help you obtain you become a certified personal trainer through NASM. Includes

Power points and student discount on study material and test.

Registration

Registration opens for Spring Session 1 on January 1, 2019. Registration is required for fee based programs and the classes are open to students, members, and nonmembers.  Enrollment for each class closes 72 hours before the classes scheduled first session. You can register online or with Member Services in the Recreation and Wellness Center. If you do not have an online account, please click here for instructions on setting up your account. 

Refunds are not given for Fee Based Programs, unless the class is canceled. Please contact us if you have an emergency situation and would like refund consideration.
