The RWC offers a wide variety of fee based programs.  The classes that are offered as fee based programs are progressive and provide personal enrichment, training, and skill building.  Each participant can enjoy a smaller class setting and more individual attention from the instructor.  Each instructor is certified within their discipline and has years of experience. 

This program will help you get in shape for your next 5k. This program will guide you through a strategic training regimen and some helpful tips to take with you during the race.

*All registrants will receive free registration to our Goose Chase 5k on May 6th.

Spring Session: Mondays & Fridays 1:30-2:30pm, March 4th-May 3rd

It is that time of the year again! UMSL Campus Recreation is thrilles to host the 4th Annual Goose Chase 5k & 1 mile walk! All proceeds from the race will be donated to the UMSL Triton Pantry. You can also bring items on the day of the race to donate to the Triton Pantry - peanut butter, oatmeal or pasta.

When: Friday, May 3rd at 10:00am
Options: 5k OR 1 Mile (you will choose your race length the day of)
Cost: $5-UMSL Students, $10-RWC Members and UMSL Employees, $20-Nonmembers - Included a t-shirt, medal & free Italian Ice to enjoy after the race.
UMSL Employees: You can earn 10 physical activity points for participating, and you can earn an additional 10 community service points by donating an item to the Triton Pantry Food Drive - bring peanut butter, oatmeal or pasta the day of the race.

Following the race there will be Food Trucks in the Visitors Parking Lot (Lot C) for Food Truck Friday!

Want a workout program designed for you, but don’t have time to meet with a personal trainer every week? The Healthy Weight Management program will allow you to work out around your schedule with a workout program that was designed to meet your goals. 

This course will introduce the fundamentals of healthy living. Whether you’re looking to start your journey or continue to advance your health, our trainers can help

Each participant will is paired with a certified personal trainer and meets with them at the beginning and at the end of the program. Each meeting will consist of a free fitness assessment. During the assessment your trainer will measure body composition, flexibility, muscular strength and endurance, and more. These are all components of fitness that they will use in order to create a workout that’s right for you!

Spring Session: April 1-May 10

Interested in becoming a Personal Trainer? This class is designed to provide hands on experience with training clients and a general overview of anatomy/physiology, nutrition, program design, and more. This program will help you obtain you become a certified personal trainer through NASM. Includes

Power points and student discount on study material and test.

Registration opens for Spring Session 1 on January 1, 2019. Registration is required for fee based programs and the classes are open to students, members, and nonmembers.  Enrollment for each class closes 72 hours before the classes scheduled first session. You can register online or with Member Services in the Recreation and Wellness Center. If you do not have an online account, please click here for instructions on setting up your account. 

Refunds are not given for Fee Based Programs, unless the class is canceled. Please contact us if you have an emergency situation and would like refund consideration.
