Since 1914, the American Red Cross has helped millions of people learn to swim through the nation’s first water safety program, and it’s still the gold standard more than 100 years later!
For non-member certification registration, If you are not a member of our facility, you can still sign up for our programs. You can visit us in person to sign up or you can sign up online.
To sign up online, please fill out THIS FORM. When you submit the form, we will create a profile for you, then email you with instructions on how to log into the app or online portal so you can register and pay for your desired program.
If you have multiple people that need an account, please fill out a form for each person regardless of age. Please note that children under 18 must have their legal guardian attached to the account so please fill out a form for the legal guardian and another one for any additional minors.

In an effort for UMSL to do its part in continuing to prevent unnecessary exposure to COVID-19, we are offering semi-private and group swim lessons.
Group Swim Lessons
Preschool - Ages 3 through 5 - 30 minute lessons
Participants explore basic skills through repetition and muscle memory while encouraging safety in the water. Entry and exit, breath control, gliding, floating, jumping, treading water and combined arm and leg actions are just a few of the skills practiced each class meeting while developing comfort and independence.

Level 1 - Suggested ages if you haven't attended a session before: Ages 6 through 12 - 45 minute lessons
After a brief assessment on the first day of class, participants could be moved around to another level based off of comfort in the water and swimming ability. Beginners focus on water adjustment and development of basic swimming skills such as breath control, floating, gliding, treading water and combined arm and leg actions. More experienced participants will move to level 2 to expand upon those concepts and work to fine tune their strokes and breath control while increasing their endurance and learning new skills.

Stroke Clinic - Ages 6 through 12 - 45 minute lessons
Coached workout for advanced swimmers looking to join a team, compete in triathlon or stay in shape for summer swim leagues. Participants practice the four competitive strokes along with turns, lap swim etiquette, and light physical conditioning. Must be able to swim two continuous lengths of the pool using rhythmic breathing and tread water.
No lessons being offered at this time.

Group Lessons:
Registration for all group swim lessons are available in person at the RWC Triton Trading Post, through the online member portal, or UMSL Campus Rec app. If you are a member and are having trouble accessing our online portal or app, please reach out to us at campusrecreation@umsl.edu.

Fees are for the entire session and must be paid in full at registration.
Minimum class size for any level is 3 participants. If minimum is not reached on the first class meeting, the class will be cancelled.
Semi-Private Lessons:
Our semi private lessons are currently operating off of a waitlist! Please reach out directly to Melissa to get a spot on the list. Her email is carrabinem@umsl.edu.
Minimum number of participants is 2 and a maximum of 3 per lesson. Participants must sign up together and all must be present at the time of payment. Participants will pay individually.
There are a total of six lessons included in the prices shown. Once participants are registered, they will be matched with an instructor. The instructors and participants will all work together to set the dates for all six lessons.
All instructors will meet the participants at the Welcome Desk and direct them to the Triton Trading Post to pay on the first day of lessons. Fees for all six lessons must be paid for in full on the day of the first scheduled lesson.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Group Lessons Policy:
We do not offer a refund for our group swim lessons if a participant is unable to attend a class. We only offer a refund if we (RWC) have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances.
Semi Private Lessons Cancellation Policy:
If all of the participants needs to reschedule they can work with the instructor ahead of time to find a new time, if someone fails to show up we will run the class for who is present and the individuals who missed will forfeit both the lesson and not receive a refund. There will be no refund for any lessons not redeemed.
Please Note: You have six months from your first scheduled semi-private lesson to schedule and finish all six lessons. If you fail to do so, the RWC will assume the cost of the remaining sessions. No refunds will be given for the lessons not scheduled.
