Campus Committees

UMSL is committed to creating a safe campus environment for our faculty, staff, students and guests. The university demonstrates this commitment, in part, through the work of various safety-oriented committees. These committees meet frequently for the purpose of:

  • Developing and implementing safety procedures designed to augment existing programs to create a safer campus community for students, faculty, staff and visitors;
  • Assessing and highlighting past and current safety practices;
  • Improving student, faculty and staff awareness of local and University safety initiatives and practices;
  • Engaging the University community and key stakeholders in a concrete dialogue about real and perceived threats to individual and campus safety;
  • Encouraging and educating students, faculty and staff to take personal responsibility for their own safety.
  • CARE Process - is a way to report students and/or situations of concern.
